The economic impact of sport rises in Germany.

Economically, the German sport does not need to hide. It contributes more than 77.4 billion Euros to the gross domestic product in 2010. This represents around 3.5 percent of total gross value added. Thus, the economic importance of sport has increased in 2010 compared with 2008, at 4.3 billion Euros.

The results concerning the economic importance of the cross-section activity of sport in Germany are prepared jointly by 2hm (Mainz) and GWS as part of a regular monitoring of the Federal Institute of Sport Science (BISP).
