Our figure of the month 12/15: 4 trillion bubbles until New Year's Eve

Like every year, many bubbles are going to burst at New Year’s Eve. This is, however, not a reason to worry but a source of joy. Opening a bottle of (0.75 ltr.) sparkling wine results in the rise of about one million carbon dioxide bubbles. This meant that overall 4,227,627,027 bubbles bursted from sparkling wine and champagne bottles in 2014. Very likely this will happen again in 2015.
