Online seminar on "Analysis of economic impacts of climate change and adaptation measures" at the Academy of Public Administration in Kazakhstan
As part of the Climate Resilient Economic Development (CRED) project, Anett Großmann and Frank Hohmann (GWS) together with Dana Yermolyonok (Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)) conducted an online seminar on "Analysis of the economic impacts of climate change and adaptation measures".
Together with the participants the
- climate risks in Kazakhstan,
- economic effects of climate change,
- modelling of economic impacts and adaptation to climate change and
- scenario examples: Analysis of droughts and floods in the macroeconomic model e3.kz
were discussed.
The e3.kz model is being developed in cooperation with GWS and the Economic Research Institute (ERI). It quantifies the economic impacts of climate change and possible adaptation measures to climate change, thus supporting evidence-based policy development.
