The model SPARTEN is designed to provide a broad data base on economic sectors. It encompasses statistical information on a high level of detail for 375 different economic activities (NACE Rev. 2) that includes times series on revenues, costs structures, companies, employees etc.
Model description:

The data base is generated from official statistics provided by the German Federal Statistical Office, the Federal Employment Agency and Federal Ministries. In combination with the macro-econometric model INFORGE (inter-industry forecasting Germany) SPARTEN offers the opportunity to project the time series on revenues, labour and material costs, wages, employment, number of companies etc. for each economic sector. Thus, a variety of analyses and studies for economic activities up to NACE 5-level can be conducted. SPARTEN was first generated in 1996 and is updated on an annual basis since then.
